Restylane Dermal Filler

What are Fillers?

Dermal fillers, such as Restylane for anti-aging, are natural substances that are placed into deep folds or areas of volume loss on the face.  This simple filler treatment helps to improve the appearance of deep lines and volume loss that can age the appearance of the face.

By restoring volume to the face, Restylane treatment is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment option that delivers a dramatic anti-aging effect after a short in-office treatment.  Restylane is made of an ingredient called hyaluronic acid, which is a natural moisture-holding component of the skin.

Restylane for Nasolabial Folds

There are many areas of the face that can benefit from Restylane treatment.  The most commonly treated areas are the nasolabial folds (smile lines), cheeks, tear troughs (the hollow area under the eyes that leads to dark circles), and thin or uneven lips.  During your initial consultation, we will work together with you to determine the best areas for your Restylane treatment.  Some patients choose to have only one area treated, while others benefit from treatment of multiple areas on the face.

Restylane Lip Augmentation

Restylane is an excellent treatment for improving the appearance of the lips.  Some women find that their lips are very thin and some women have uneven upper or lower lips; both of these issues can be easily treated with a single Restylane treatment.  A small amount of Restylane, placed into the right area of the lip, can great improve your appearance and provide a dramatic anti-aging effect.  Our goal is to provide a natural-looking treatment that enhances your own natural beauty.  Lip augmentation with Restylane lasts for 9 months after a single treatment.

What to Expect During Restylane Treatment

All Restylane treatments are performed in-office during a regular appointment.  The treatment itself takes approximately 15-30 minutes and begins with a consultation in the office.  During the consultation, we discuss your goals and the needs of your skin and come up with a treatment plan together.

Restylane-L contains a numbing medication that has been mixed into the hyaluronic acid filler; even without numbing cream the treatment is very comfortable.  Using a tiny needle, the Restylane is placed into the area to be treated.  This process takes only a few minutes and the improvement from Restylane can be appreciated immediately following the treatment.  Prior to leaving the office, ice is applied to the skin to prevent bruising.

How Long Does Restylane Last?

The anti-aging improvement of Restylane is apparent immediately following Restylane treatment.  Restylane is used to fill in deep folds (such as the smile lines) or add volume to areas of volume loss that occur due to the natural aging process.  This effect lasts for 6-9 months after a single treatment of Restylane.  Since Restylane is made of a natural ingredient called hyaluronic acid, the treatment is a safe and effective option for nearly anyone.  Restylane for anti-aging is a short treatment that delivers a dramatic improvement in the appearance of contours on the face.

Restylane Filler

Restylane is a dermal filler composed of an ingredient called hyaluronic acid.  Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the skin, though it delivers a dramatic anti-aging effect when placed into deep folds or areas of volume depletion.  Restylane is most commonly used to improve the appearance of deep nasolabial folds (smile lines), the hollow circles under the eyes, thin or uneven lips, and volume depletion in the cheeks and midface.  The effects of Restylane last for 6-9 months after a single treatment.  Restylane for anti-aging is a safe and effective way to improve the appearance of deep smile lines or loss of volume from aging.

About Schweiger Dermatology Group

Schweiger Dermatology Group was founded to help make excellent dermatology care accessible throughout the Northeast. In 2010, Dr. Eric Schweiger started the practice with a single location in Midtown Manhattan. When he saw the need for high-quality dermatology care that did not require weeks or months of waiting to see a qualified provider, his vision of a multi-location practice was born.
