About Jennifer Smith, MD
Dr. Jennifer Smith is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
She brings decades of experience in medical dermatology and skin cancer treatment. Dr. Smith has performed thousands of Mohs surgeries, a highly precise and tissue-sparing technique used to treat skin cancer with a cure rate over 95 percent. Her detailed approach ensures thorough cancer removal while preserving as much healthy skin as possible.
Dr. Smith spent a decade as a faculty member at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she served as assistant and associate professor of dermatology and taught both medical students and residents. During her time there, she earned multiple awards for patient satisfaction and leadership, including the “Unsung Hero” award from the dermatology department.
Dr. Smith graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in history from George Washington University. She earned her medical degree from the University of Arizona School of Medicine, where she graduated with highest honors and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She completed her dermatology residency at Texas Tech, serving as chief resident.
She became a fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery in 2004 and is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology.
