Schweiger Dermatology’s Summer Body Solutions on Telemundo

Dr. Schweiger appeared on Telemundo this week to discuss two amazing body treatments for the summer months: CoolSculpting by Zeltiq and the GentleLase hair removal treatment from Syneron. Here’s what Dr. Schweiger told TV host Kika Rocha.

Dr. Schweiger explained that CoolSculpting from Zeltiq is a wonderful option for those looking to tone and reduce fat bulge in their trouble areas—those stubborn pockets of fat that diet and exercise can’t see to get rid of—without anesthesia or lengthy downtime. During CoolSculpting, a non-invasive handpiece suctions on to the area of the body being treated.

During this time, the temperature of the treated area is reduced to a level at which fat cells begin to be broken down; this process is referred to as cryolipolysis. As fat cells are broken down, the body’s own immune system flushes them away from the site. The result is a significant decrease in the fat cells at the treated area, which can smooth out fat bulges and improve the appearance of your body by fat reduction.
