About Gilberto Alvarez Del Manzano, MD, FAAD
Dr. Alvarez is a board-certified dermatologist and internist who provides comprehensive dermatologic care for both adult and pediatric patients.
He is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care with a focus on education, prevention, and individualized treatment.
A magna cum laude graduate and member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Dr. Alvarez combines academic excellence with a strong dedication to clinical care. He serves as a faculty member at both NYU and Mount Sinai Hospitals, where he teaches dermatology residents the diagnosis and management of complex skin diseases.
In clinical practice, Dr. Alvarez treats a broad range of dermatologic conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, contact dermatitis, chronic pruritus, urticaria, rosacea, and acne. He also performs a variety of in-office dermatologic procedures, including cyst and wart removal, with an emphasis on achieving excellent medical and cosmetic outcomes.
Dr. Alvarez has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed dermatology journals, contributing to advances in clinical dermatology and patient care. He is also actively involved in community health initiatives, providing medical services to underserved populations, including older adults and individuals with limited access to healthcare.
Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, Dr. Alvarez values clear communication and cultural sensitivity, helping patients feel informed, understood, and actively involved in their care.
