Excessive Sweating

Excessive sweating (medically referred to as hyperhidrosis) can be an embarrassing and frustrating condition. While any area of the body can suffer from excessive sweating, it is most commonly seen under the arms, palms, feet and face. Those who suffer from excessive sweating know how it can greatly interfere with their personal and professional lives. For those with hyperhidrosis, store-bought antiperspirant often doesn’t cut it. At Schweiger Dermatology, we have found great success with the use of Botox injections to treat areas that commonly suffer from excessive sweating.

Botox Injections for Excessive Sweating

Botox has been around for over 20 years and is considered an extremely safe medical treatment for anti-aging and migraines. Botox also works beautifully for hyperhidrosis. For treatment in the underarms, Botox is injected in about 15-20 sites in the armpits. Decreased sweating is seen about two weeks later, with the sweat reduction lasting approximately six months. Botox injections also work well to treat excessive sweating in the face, soles of the feet and palms of the hand.

About Schweiger Dermatology Group

Schweiger Dermatology Group was founded to help make excellent dermatology care accessible throughout the Northeast. In 2010, Dr. Eric Schweiger started the practice with a single location in Midtown Manhattan. When he saw the need for high-quality dermatology care that did not require weeks or months of waiting to see a qualified provider, his vision of a multi-location practice was born.
