Dr. Friedenthal earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at the Stanford University School of Medicine, followed by specialty training in plastic surgery at the University of California San Francisco.

He has been in private practice for many years and served as Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco for more than 16 years.

He is a full clinical professor of plastic surgery at the University of California San Francisco where he continues to teach and mentor residents and medical students in plastic and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Friedenthal is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been recognized in Best Doctors in America and listed by U.S. News and World Report among its “Best Doctors.”
