About Saira Zafar, MD

Dr. Saira Zafar is a board-certified allergist and immunologist at Schweiger Dermatology & Allergy who provides comprehensive, expert care for patients with a broad spectrum of allergic and immunologic conditions.

Her clinical interests include food allergies and oral immunotherapy (OIT), contact dermatitis, eczema, asthma, hives, and environmental allergies. She is deeply committed to providing evidence-based, personalized care that helps patients achieve lasting improvements in their health and quality of life.

Dr. Zafar earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center. She then pursued fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where her research explored topics including asthma care quality, food allergy diagnostics, alpha-gal syndrome, vaccine safety, and biologic therapies for chronic urticaria.

During her residency, Dr. Zafar was honored to deliver oral presentations at both the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) and the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) annual meetings. She has presented numerous posters at national conferences and was recognized with the distinguished Work Ethic and Diligence Award during her training.

Dr. Zafar has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, including the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and the Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. She remains an active member of the AAAAI, ACAAI, and the New Jersey Allergy and Asthma Society.
