He completed his dermatology residency at Larkin Community Hospital Palm Springs Campus in Miami, Florida, where he served as chief resident. In his final year, he was honored with the Award of Excellence by the Foundation for Osteopathic Dermatology.

Dr. Sharma is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and has contributed to several publications in medical dermatology journals.

Outside of the office, he enjoys traveling, fitness and playing and watching sports.
