About Emily Shaughnessy, MD

Dr. Shaughnessy is a board-certified dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group.

She has advanced training and a strong academic background, with clinical interests in general dermatology and women’s health. Dr. Shaughnessy provides evidence-based care with a special focus on how hormonal changes and life transitions impact skin health across the lifespan.

She earned her undergraduate degree from Boston University, graduating magna cum laude. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University at Buffalo, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. Dr. Shaughnessy completed her internship at the University at Buffalo and her dermatology residency at the University of Vermont. She is board certified in dermatology and holds additional certification in menopause medicine, bringing a unique and holistic perspective to her dermatologic care.

Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Shaughnessy worked in academic medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Hartford HealthCare, where she was academically affiliated and actively involved in resident education. She was honored with a teaching award for excellence in medical education and mentorship.
