Joelle O’Connor, L.E.

After successfully battling stage 2 breast cancer in 2021, Joelle decided to take her passion for helping patients achieve beautiful skin to the next level by training at the prestigious Parisian Beauty Academy, a Paul Mitchell Partner School, to obtain her aesthetician certification. She is performing various skin care treatments in the Hackensack office, including custom facials, anti-aging facial treatments, and nanoneedling facial infusion. Joelle has completed training in Oncology skin care, ensuring that patients with the most compromised skin can feel beautiful with safe treatments. Joelle also has expertise in acne treatments, especially with transgender patients. She offers a safe and healing treatment space for everyone!

In her spare time, Joelle loves to spend time with her husband, their Golden Retriever, family, and friends. She is an avid road cyclist, often participating in various charity bike rides, especially for Cystic Fibrosis. When not attending advanced training programs and classes, she loves to read thriller novels, political non-fiction, and books on spiritual enlightenment.

What made you decide to become an Esthetician?

“After experiencing the damaging effects of chemotherapy in my skin, I was at a very low point with how I felt about my appearance. I was extremely self-conscious and very depressed. I could not use any of my skincare products, and I couldn’t do any of my usual in-office treatments because my skin was so compromised. I felt like there was no hope. After I fully recovered and my skin returned to what I call “a new normalâ€�, I knew that I did not want other people, whether they were oncology patients or not, to feel the way I did about my skin. I want to help heal people and help them restore their confidence and feel beautiful!â€�
