His fellowship in allergy, rheumatology and clinical immunology was completed at Stony Brook University Hospital, Stony Brook, New York. Dr. Garofalo is board-certified in both internal medicine and dermatology.

Presently Dr. Garofalo serves as the Director of Dermatology at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York. He has been a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology since 1985 and a fellow of the Long Island Dermatology Society. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Garofalo enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, camping, fishing and many other outdoor activities using sunscreen SPF 30 or greater, of course!
