Dr. Escandon Brehm is a dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group.

Originally from Ecuador, she received her medical degree from the Universidad de Cuenca graduating amongst the best of her class. During medical school, she served as a teacher assistant in biology and anatomy.

About Julia Escandon Brehm, MD, PhD

Dr. Escandon Brehm is a dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group.

She specializes in medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology with an emphasis on skin cancer and is interested in dermatology research and teaching. Originally from Ecuador, she received her medical degree from the Universidad de Cuenca graduating amongst the best of her class. During medical school, she served as a teacher assistant in biology and anatomy.

She then moved to the United States to pursue research and received her PhD in cancer biology from the University of Miami. She completed her internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach and her dermatology residency at the Philip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami. During her residency, she served as cosmetic chief resident and started the “cosmetic Saturday clinics” for training her peers, once again demonstrating her passion for teaching.

Dr. Escandon Brehm speaks English, Spanish and French and loves traveling and international food, interests that she shares with her husband Michael. They are parents of two children and Mango, a playful Dalmatian.
