Paul C. Tumeh, MD

Before moving to San Francisco, Paul was a physician-scientist at the UCLA Medical Center, where he led a translational immuno-oncology team studying how tumor microenvironments influence anti-tumor T-cell immunity during anti–PD-1 therapy. He was an NIH-funded investigator, recipient of the Damon Runyon Clinical Investigator Award, and Principal Investigator for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Medical Research Fellowship Program. Paul has served as a reviewer for the NIAID/NIH, the Harry J. Lloyd Charitable Trust Melanoma Research Advisory Board, and leading journals including Nature, the New England Journal of Medicine, and Clinical Cancer Research.

Paul earned his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Pennsylvania Health System followed by a dermatology residency at Harbor – UCLA Medical Center.
