Her medical background includes training in both internal medicine and dermatology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This comprehensive training gives her a unique, holistic approach to skin health and wellness. She earned her board certification in dermatology in 1996.

She was among the first to publish research on combining external ultrasound with tumescent liposuction, contributing to the advancement of cosmetic dermatology. She provides a wide range of treatments including advanced laser therapies, injectable fillers such as Juvéderm, Voluma, and Botox, as well as Fraxel laser, Thermage, IPL™/Photofacials, spider vein treatments with Asclera/sclerotherapy, BLU-U light therapy for acne, glycolic and mandelic acid peels, and CoolSculpting.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Luftman is co-author of the bestselling book The Beauty Prescription and co-editor of the medical text Glycolic Acid Peels. She has been featured in national media outlets including Good Morning America, EXTRA, Vogue, InStyle, O, The Oprah Magazine, and The New York Times.
