About Erica Colton, DNP, FNP-BC
Erica Colton is a Nurse Practitioner at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
She is dedicated to providing thorough, patient-centered, sincere dermatological care to all of her patients.
Erica received her BS in Movement Science from the University of Michigan. She then obtained her MS in Nursing at Columbia University followed by a DNP at Columbia University. Her education at Columbia consisted of three and a half years of didactic and clinical education in various medical specialties.
During her time at Columbia, she worked as an outpatient pediatric nurse and as a teaching assistant for multiple courses. She was inducted into the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing in 2020. She also received many awards and accolades during her time at Columbia, including two scholarships for academic excellence. She took her first job as a nurse practitioner in an interventional pain management clinic, however, quickly realized dermatology was her passion. 
Her interest in dermatology was driven by her interest in skincare as well as her close family history of skin cancer. She began her medical career by completing Schweiger Dermatology Group’s Advanced Practice Provider Training Program, which combined rigorous academic and clinical training by top dermatologists. This allowed her to gain firsthand experience in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.
Erica is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a licensed nurse practitioner in New York and Florida.
