About Jessica Chan, PA-C
Jessica is a certified physician assistant at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
She is passionate about addressing both acute and chronic skin conditions across all ages, with a specialized focus on skin cancer surveillance. Her practice extends beyond diagnostic screening and treatment. She is dedicated to preventative counseling to promote long-term skin health and well-being.
Jessica earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Before pursuing graduate studies, she was actively involved in public health and research initiatives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She later completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Idaho State University, Meridian Health Sciences Center, graduating at the top of her class. Her academic achievements earned her several honors, including the Dr. Jo Kay Elliott-Blakeslee scholarship and top-percentile scores on her board-certifying exam.
Prior to specializing in dermatology, Jessica began her career in emergency medicine, where she acquired a wealth of high-acuity medical experience that continues to enrich her current dermatology practice. Her commitment to providing comprehensive care led her to undergo extensive training in clinical, surgical and aesthetic dermatology at the esteemed Boise VA Medical Center, further refined under the guidance of the former Chief of Dermatology (UCSF Fresno) in private practice prior to joining the California Skin Institute – now part of Schweiger Dermatology Group. She also completed one year of medical dermatology and surgical training for excisions under Mohs surgeon, Dr. Tran.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring nature and traveling internationally. She is also a classically trained pianist and violinist who continues to play recreationally. She is fluent in Cantonese.
