About Francis Hsiao, MD, PhD
Dr. Hsiao is a board-certified dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
He has advanced fellowship training in Mohs micrographic, reconstructive, cosmetic and laser surgery, and is recognized for his expertise in both medical and aesthetic dermatology. Dr. Hsiao takes a personalized, holistic approach to skin health, combining clinical excellence with cosmetic artistry to help patients feel confident in how their skin looks and feels.
Dr. Hsiao earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Cornell University and Harvard University, where he was supported by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the National Science Foundation.
He completed a combined MD-PhD degree through the competitive NIH Medical Scientist Training Program at Tufts University, where he discovered his passion for dermatology. He completed his dermatology residency at the University of California Davis Medical Center, followed by a highly selective fellowship in Mohs micrographic, cosmetic and laser surgery at Boston University.
Before joining Schweiger Dermatology Group, Dr. Hsiao was on faculty in Rhode Island, where he served as associate program director for a procedural dermatology and Mohs surgery fellowship. A widely published author and frequent speaker at national and international conferences, he is fluent in Chinese and is known for delivering thoughtful, top-quality care. His clinical interests include Botox, fillers, laser treatments and cosmetic surgical procedures.
