About Sébastien de Feraudy, MD, PhD
Dr. Sébastien de Feraudy is a board-certified dermatopathologist and laboratory director at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
Dr. de Feraudy brings over a decade of diagnostic experience in both academic and clinical settings. He specializes in cutaneous soft tissue tumors, melanocytic neoplasms, cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorders and inflammatory dermatoses. His diagnostic philosophy is shaped by a strong foundation in molecular research and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. He is dedicated to providing precise, timely and personalized diagnostics for every patient.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Paris Descartes School of Medicine. After completing a visiting postdoctoral fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of California, San Francisco, he went on to complete his residency in anatomic pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He later completed a dermatopathology fellowship through the combined program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. de Feraudy also holds a PhD in biomedical sciences, which he earned for research on the molecular mechanisms of UV-induced skin cancers and DNA repair, conducted under the mentorship of Professor James E. Cleaver at UCSF. In addition, he holds a Master’s degree in immunology from the Pasteur Institute in Paris.
He previously served as in-house dermatopathology consultant at Kaiser Permanente in Northern California, where he provided second-opinion evaluations for complex skin specimens within a multidisciplinary network. Earlier in his career, he was associate professor and director of the Dermatopathology and Mohs Surgery Laboratory in the Department of Dermatology at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. de Feraudy is an active member of the American Society of Dermatopathology and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
