About Andrew D. Breithaupt, MD
Dr. Breithaupt is a board-certified dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
He has performed more than 5,000 Mohs and reconstructive surgeries, bringing extensive expertise and precision to the care of patients with skin cancer and complex dermatologic conditions. His clinical approach combines technical skill with an artistic eye, producing consistent and high-quality surgical outcomes.
Dr. Breithaupt earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego, and completed his dermatology residency at UCLA. He went on to complete a highly selective fellowship at UCLA in Mohs surgery, reconstructive plastic surgery and cosmetic dermatology — training offered to only one physician per year. This multidisciplinary background allows him to integrate dermatology, plastic surgery and laser techniques in his surgical and cosmetic practice.
He serves as an associate clinical professor of dermatology at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and regularly volunteers his time teaching medical students, residents and fellows. Dr. Breithaupt is especially committed to caring for veterans at the West Los Angeles Veterans Hospital.
A recognized leader in his field, Dr. Breithaupt has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed articles, four book chapters and has delivered more than 25 presentations at scientific meetings nationwide.
He lives in Hermosa Beach with his wife, son and dog. Outside of work, he is an avid surfer, athlete and traveler who enjoys time on the water and along The Strand.
