About David Kurtyka, MD, MS
Dr. David Kurtyka is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon with expertise in skin cancer treatment, reconstructive surgery, and general dermatology.
He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care with a focus on achieving the best possible medical and cosmetic outcomes.
Dr. Kurtyka earned his undergraduate degree in Biological Physics from Georgetown University, where he was a member of the university football team. He continued his education at Georgetown, completing a Master of Science in Physiology and Biophysics before earning his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. During medical school, he was recognized for both academic excellence and leadership.
He completed his internal medicine internship at Lankenau Medical Center, followed by his dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. During residency, he received the Resident Teacher of the Year Award in recognition of his dedication to medical education and mentorship. Dr. Kurtyka then pursued advanced fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania.
In clinical practice, Dr. Kurtyka specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery, skin cancer treatment, reconstructive surgery, and general dermatology. He is committed to providing personalized care and helping patients navigate both routine and complex dermatologic concerns.
Dr. Kurtyka is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications in leading dermatology journals and remains actively involved in advancing the field through scholarship and education.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Kurtyka enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active, exploring new restaurants, baking, and playing the piano. He is also a devoted supporter of Boston sports teams.
