About Nana Duffy, MD, FAAD
Dr. Nana Duffy is a board-certified dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
Dr. Duffy has more than 15 years of experience in general dermatology, surgical dermatology and laser medicine, with a focus on treating all skin types. She has cultivated a particular expertise in treating skin of color and is experienced in using laser and light-based devices for both cosmetic and medical concerns. She is skilled in skin cancer detection and treatment, including surgical excisions, and has also cared for patients with complex dermatologic conditions in hospital settings.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies through the Medical Scholars Program at the University of Delaware, a program designed to prepare future physicians to explore the human experience as it relates to medicine. Dr. Duffy completed medical school at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also obtained a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Christiana Care in Delaware, followed by a dermatology residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Dr. Duffy is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, presented at national and international dermatology meetings and mentored medical students pursuing dermatology careers. She previously served as laser safety officer in her former practice.
She is deeply committed to community health and service in Rochester, New York, where she has co-founded a nonprofit supporting young people interested in medicine. She is an active member of The Links, Incorporated, and has contributed to various initiatives through the Rochester Regional Health Foundation. Dr. Duffy also led the first-ever free skin cancer screening for firefighters in Rochester to raise awareness of elevated cancer risks in first responders.
Patient wellbeing is at the center of her care philosophy. Dr. Duffy is focused on delivering a thoughtful, compassionate and patient-centered experience to everyone she treats.
