Steven J. Fishman, MD

Raised in Liberty, New York, Dr. Fishman earned his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he developed an early interest in dermatology and published the first of many dermatologic research papers. During medical school, he was awarded the prestigious American Dermatological Association Medical Student Research Fellowship in recognition of his academic achievement and research contributions.

Dr. Fishman completed his dermatology residency at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year. Throughout his training, he presented research at national and regional meetings, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society for Investigative Dermatology, and the Southern Medical Association. His residency provided extensive training in dermatologic surgery, establishing the foundation for a distinguished career in both medical and procedural dermatology.

In clinical practice, Dr. Fishman diagnoses and treats a broad spectrum of dermatologic conditions while performing a full range of dermatologic surgical procedures. His commitment to excellence has earned him repeated recognition as “Best Dermatologist” in local publications and designation as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Fishman serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he teaches dermatologic surgery to residents at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He remains actively involved in research, publication, and physician education, mentoring medical students, interns, and residents throughout their training.
