Dr. Huizenga graduated with honors from Michigan State University and earned her Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University. She completed an internship in internal medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt before returning to Wayne State University to complete her residency in dermatology.

She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Huizenga has also contributed to the field through publications in several peer-reviewed journals.
