About Valerie Marino, FNP-C
Valerie Marino is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner who practices medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
She completed her education at Stony Brook University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
After graduation, Valerie completed Schweiger Dermatology Group’s Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Program, where she received hands-on, tailored training specific to dermatology. She worked side by side with Schweiger Dermatology’s most esteemed and skilled providers, mastering medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology techniques.
Valerie is also certified as a CCRN (Critical-Care Registered Nurse) by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. She worked for 7 years in the Medical ICU as an RN, honing her skills in critical thinking, patient advocacy, and cultural competence. She thrived in an environment where attention to detail is a lifesaving practice.
Valerie focuses on customizing treatment options to meet each patient’s specific needs, goals, and comfort level. She believes that patience, effective communication, and thorough patient education are the keys to building the foundation of a successful patient-provider relationship. By integrating current research and proven evidence-based practice, she ensures the highest standards of care and optimal health outcomes for her patients.
Born and raised on Long Island, she is happy to serve her community.
