Rachel Smith, MD

Dr. Smith earned her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University before completing her Internal Medicine residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. She went on to complete fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at Johns Hopkins University, where she received advanced training in the diagnosis and management of complex allergic and immune-mediated diseases.

In clinical practice, Dr. Smith treats a wide range of conditions, including environmental allergies, asthma, eczema, food allergies, medication allergies, chronic hives, allergic contact dermatitis, eosinophilic disorders, recurrent infections, and primary immunodeficiency disorders. She is committed to staying at the forefront of advances in allergy and immunology and developing individualized treatment plans that align with each patient’s needs, goals, and lifestyle.

Known for her compassionate and thoughtful approach, Dr. Smith takes time to listen carefully to her patients, answer questions, and ensure they feel informed and supported throughout their care. She emphasizes shared decision-making and believes that patient education is essential to achieving the best possible outcomes.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Smith has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on allergic and immunologic diseases and has presented her research at national scientific meetings, including the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Annual Meeting. She is an active member of both the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Smith enjoys exercise classes, traveling, and spending time with her husband and son.
