Jeuveau® is the newest neuromodulator for adults to hit the market and is structurally similar to Botox®. It is an FDA-approved prescription medication (injectable) used to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines).

What is the active ingredient in Jeuveau®?
The active ingredient in Jeuveau® is botulinum toxin type A. The inactive ingredients are human serum albumin and sodium chloride.

What is the difference between Jeuveau® and Botox®?
Jeuveau® and Botox® are both neurotoxins made from botulinum toxin type A, but they differ in the manufacturing and purification processes. Even though both products are great for treating frown lines, Botox® is FDA-approved to treat many other cosmetic concerns and medical conditions.
Your dermatology provider will determine which product is best for you. Some people respond better to Jeuveau®, and others respond better to Botox®. -
How long does Jeuveau® treatment take?
Treatment is quick, taking no more than 10 minutes of your time.

What can patients expect with Jeuveau® treatment?
Before treatment, a local anesthetic is applied to the skin to numb the area. Once the area is numb, your dermatology provider uses a very small needle to inject Jeuveau® into your facial muscles between your eyebrows.

Is there any downtime with Jeuveau® treatment?
There is no downtime with Jeuveau® treatment. You can return to your normal activities after treatment.

How long do results last with Jeuveau®?
Results with Jeuveau® treatment last from 3 to 4 months.

How soon after Jeuveau® treatment do you see results?
Results vary from patient to patient, but typically patients start seeing results from Jeuveau® within 2 to 10 days after the first treatment.

How many Jeuveau® treatments are needed to maintain results?
Patients have reported that three treatment sessions each year are perfect for maintaining desired results.

Who should not have Jeuveau® treatment?
You should not have Jeuveau® treatment if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Jeuveau®, such as botulinum toxin type A and human serum albumin.
Jeuveau® treatment is also not recommended for patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disease, pre-existing neuromuscular disorders, or pre-existing dysphagia and breathing difficulties.
Additionally, you should not have Jeuveau® treatment if you have had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product or have a skin infection at the planned injection site.

Have there been any adverse reactions to Jeuveau®?
The most common adverse reactions to Jeuveau® treatment include headache (12 percent), eyelid ptosis (2 percent), upper respiratory tract infection (3 percent), and an increase in white blood cell count (1 percent).

How often can you get Jeuveau® treatment?
We recommend that you wait 3 months before having another Jeuveau® treatment.

Are patients generally happy with Jeuveau® treatment?
Patient satisfaction is high. Over 95 percent of patients surveyed reported that Jeuveau® treatment provides natural-looking results.
