He graduated with honors from the University of Michigan and earned his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. Dr. Hirsch completed a three-year residency in pediatrics at New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in allergy and immunology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

He has been recognized multiple times as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in allergy.
