Acne Treatment for Scars with F.A.S.T.

What is the F.A.S.T. Treatment for Acne Scars?

What many don’t realize is that they don’t simply have to suffer with their pitted acne scars. We’ve pioneered a process known as Focal Acne Scar Treatment (F.A.S.T.), which utilizes the fractional CO2 laser in a unique way to treat pitted acne scars for faster recovery time and greater results. Focusing in on specifically targeted areas of the face, we can significantly reduce the overall look and appearance of scars–even the more severely pitted areas. This truly is the gold standard for pitted acne scar treatment.

What Can I Expect During My F.A.S.T. Treatment?

Utilizing the latest in acne scar treatment technology, our dermatology providers use what is called a fractional laser to poke tiny microscopic holes into the skin. This process will then allow for the creation of new collagen. The collagen helps fill in the scarred areas and overall gives your skin a smoother and more refreshed look. Following the first treatment, patients may have 4-5 days of downtime as they will experience some scabbing and redness in the areas that were treated. A mild redness may follow for up to two weeks.

What Type of Acne Scars are Treated With the F.A.S.T. Technique?

F.A.S.T. is the ideal solution for essentially any type of acne scarring. We want our patients to feel confident about their appearance, no longer plagued by the self-consciousness that accompanies acne scarring. Pitted areas have responded exceptionally well to the F.A.S.T. technique. Most patients experience 50-70% improvement.

Are There Side Effects Associated With the F.A.S.T. Technique?

You will most likely experience some redness for up to two weeks following the treatment. Very rarely will patients experience prolonged dark spots, light spots or scarring. The end result is a smooth and rejuvenated complexion free of any pitted acne scars.

About Schweiger Dermatology Group

Schweiger Dermatology Group was founded to help make excellent dermatology care accessible throughout the Northeast. In 2010, Dr. Eric Schweiger started the practice with a single location in Midtown Manhattan. When he saw the need for high-quality dermatology care that did not require weeks or months of waiting to see a qualified provider, his vision of a multi-location practice was born.
