Laser Treatments for Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Laser Treatments for Fine Lines and WrinklesLaser treatments for fine lines and wrinkles are very effective non-invasive options for skin rejuvenation.

Our dermatology providers at Schweiger Dermatology Group use several types of lasers to treat fine lines and wrinkles. Laser treatments regenerate collagen growth and kickstart the body’s natural healing process to iron out any wrinkles and fine lines on the face.

Since these lasers generate heat, a topical anesthetic is applied to the skin area before treatment.

Fraxel Laser

The Fraxel laser is effective in treating fine lines around the eyes (crow’s feet), and providing a general improvement in complexion, including a firmer texture, a smoother tone, and a more even pigmentation. It is also effective in treating sun-damaged skin and age spots.

The Fraxel laser treats a small section of skin at a time utilizing microscopic laser columns that spur collagen production. This in turn allows the body’s healing process to kick in. Eventually, damaged and dead cells are replaced by new cells.

The Fraxel laser can safely be used on a number of areas—even more sensitive ones, including the face, chest and hands.

Following treatment you might experience what feels like a sunburn. This is normal. After a few hours, the feeling subsides and there is no discomfort. The redness goes away relatively quickly but the skin might still be pink for as long as 5-7 days. There could be a bronzing coloration for as long as 2 weeks. As new skin starts to grow, dead skin cells flake off. The result is youthful-looking skin, even pigmentation, and a smoother complexion.

Clear + Brilliant Laser

The Clear + Brilliant laser is a gentle, infrared fractionated, non-ablative laser that effectively treats early sun damage and superficial wrinkles. It is also the best treatment for a brighter and more even skin tone.

The Clear & Brilliant laser is an ideal starter laser.

Treatment with the Clear + Brilliant laser takes about 30 minutes. There is no downtime and you can return to work or other activities immediately after the procedure.

Recovery time is minimal, and often with no noticeable side effects the day after treatment. Within two weeks, most clients report smoother skin with a youthful, radiant glow. We recommend three treatments, spaced approximately 1 month apart to achieve optimal results followed by one maintenance treatment every 6-12 months.

This is the perfect laser treatment for millennials, as it addresses the very first signs of aging in a non-aggressive way. It is also a perfect treatment to consider before a special event, as results are evident and are achieved quickly.

Fractional CO2 Laser

Skin can look younger, feel smoother and firmer with fractional CO2 laser treatments. The fractional CO2 laser uses microbeams to penetrate deep into the skin to stimulate collagen growth, and help the body repair damaged cells and create new skin.

The fractional CO2 laser is effective in treating sun damaged skin, loose skin on the face, fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, pigmentation issues, and surgical scars. The laser delivers safe and effective skin resurfacing results.

Only microscopic areas of skin are treated at a time, while adjacent skin is left untreated. This produces better results and quicker healing time. Older CO2 lasers would treat 100% of the surface area of the skin, resulting in lengthy healing time and unwanted side effects. New fractional laser technology allows us to treat about 30% of the skin and only requires a few days of downtime.

Laser treatment takes about one hour and it feels similar to pins and needles on the skin. You can expect some redness after the treatment and that redness lasts for about 24 hours. You should allow for 3 to 5 days of downtime before resuming normal activities. Your skin will begin to peel, and after 7 days it will look pink. After about two weeks, patients report a rejuvenated appearance and smoother complexion.

Laser Genesis

Laser Genesis treatment is a heat-based process that spurs collagen growth and helps repair damaged skin. There is zero downtime or discomfort in a Laser Genesis treatment.

By stimulating collagen regrowth, Laser Genesis effectively reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, tightens pores, reduces oil production, improves overall tone and texture on the skin, gets rid of sun damage and helps to diminish any redness on the skin. Laser Genesis works by gently heating the dermis, which is located below the skin’s surface.

Most patients describe the sensation of Laser Genesis to be like the warm sun touching their face, much like a calming, relaxing facial without any pain or discomfort. During treatment, a handheld device moves back and forth across the skin creating a sensation of warmth, stimulating collagen growth..

Laser Genesis has proven incredibly effective for treating a broad range of skin complexion issues. Treatment usually takes about 30 minutes, and there is no downtime afterward so you can return to work or other activities immediately following treatment.

Usually, patients receive a series of 3-6 treatments spaced about a month apart before they start noticing the results. But when the results do take effect, you’ll have incredible, glowing, gorgeous skin.
