CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Is My $14 Secret to Ridiculously Soft Skin
I’ll be honest: I’ve never exactly cared about body moisturizers, even though I religiously use them. In my mind, they’re all kinda the same, so I usually end up rotating between random rose-scented lotions from my grandma and whatever moisturizer I can find with two-day shipping on Amazon.
But when I began getting red, itchy patches on my legs regardless of how often I moisturized them, I decided my carefree attitude was prooobably messing with my skin. So, for once, I started paying attention to the ingredients labels and reviews in order to find my match made in (body moisturizer) heaven.
After trying out a few formulas that didn’t quite agree with me (read: sticky textures and weird scents), I discovered CeraVe Moisturizing Cream: an unassuming $14 tub that has thousands—yes, thousands—of glowing reviews on Amazon, plenty of endorsements from Reddit’s skincare community r/SkincareAddiction, and the love and respect of derms errrwhere.
The first thing I noticed about the formula (other than the fact that it’s pleasantly unscented) is that it felt super lightweight. Like, questionably lightweight, which made me a little skeptical about its hydrating abilities. But according to my derm Rachel Nazarian, MD, from Schweiger Dermatology Group in NYC, this moisturizer is filled with only the good stuff—namely hyaluronic acid and ceramides.
