About Allen Miraflor, MD
Dr. Miraflor is a board-certified dermatopathologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
He has extensive experience in high-volume clinical settings and is committed to delivering precise and insightful diagnostic care. With expertise in dermatopathology, molecular pathology and laboratory quality improvement, he is passionate about integrating advanced technology and personalized care to enhance patient outcomes. Dr. Miraflor has served as a medical director and has educated dermatology residents, highlighting his commitment to both clinical excellence and mentorship.
Dr. Miraflor earned his Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Spanish for the professions from Johns Hopkins University, graduating with honors. He completed his honors thesis in environmental health studies under the direction of Dr. Thaddeus Graczyk.
He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science in Pharmacology from Tulane University School of Medicine, where his research focused on endocrine pharmacology and phytoestrogens, contributing to the Journal of Endocrinology.
He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, followed by a dermatopathology fellowship at the combined Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center/Weill Cornell–New York Presbyterian program.
Dr. Miraflor has presented at national conferences and published in a range of scientific journals, with contributions in infectious dermatopathology, oncologic dermatopathology, molecular pathology, artificial intelligence in pathology and cutaneous lymphoid proliferations. He has had the privilege of being mentored by pioneers in dermatopathology, including Drs. Cynthia Magro, Klaus Busam, Philip LeBoit and Martin Mihm, and has co-authored with Dr. LeBoit on a notable case during training.
He is a Six Sigma Yellow Belt professional dedicated to improving laboratory quality systems and has served as a delegate for the College of American Pathologists. He is also an affiliate of the American Academy of Dermatology.
